A soft matt finish for everyday interiors

Tikkurila Joker is a water-based matt emulsion for suitable interior walls and ceilings. Its soft, low-sheen appearance creates a welcoming backdrop, while its listed Class 1 scrub resistance makes it a practical option where cleanability matters.

Picture a restful bedroom in a muted shade or a comfortable living room with gently coloured walls, natural fabrics and warm timber. Joker gives these spaces a matt finish without the high reflection of a glossier coating.

Why choose Joker?

  • Matt appearance: a low-sheen finish for interior walls and ceilings.
  • Class 1 scrub resistance: the supplied specification lists resistance to wet scrubbing under test conditions.
  • Water-based: suitable for brush, roller or appropriate spray application following the technical instructions.
  • Choice of sizes: select 1L, 3L or 10L from this listing.
  • Colour flexibility: the supplied product information describes a wide range of tintable colours. Confirm your required shade before ordering.

Choose your size and colour

Select the listed pack size for your project and check the colour required before placing your order. Use a physical colour sample in your room where possible: screens, lighting and surrounding furnishings affect how a shade appears.

The genuine product photograph illustrates Joker range packaging and shows a 0.9L tin, not every listed pack size. Check the selected option and current manufacturer information for base and tinting fill details.

Preparation and application

Prepare a sound, clean and dry surface. Remove loose material, repair defects and remove dust before painting. Follow the current technical data sheet for preparation of your substrate, treatment of existing coatings and any primer required. Paint will not resolve an underlying damp problem or repair an uneven surface.

Stir and apply according to the manufacturer's instructions, using suitable tools and observing the recommended application conditions. Follow the specified number of coats and any thinning or spray guidance.

Coverage and drying

The supplied information gives indicative coverage of 7–9m² per litre on absorbent surfaces and 10–12m² per litre on non-absorbent surfaces. Actual coverage depends on preparation, texture, application and colour change; allow for the full number of coats.

It lists dust drying after approximately 30 minutes and recoating after 1–2 hours. These are indicative rather than guaranteed times: check the current technical data sheet and allow for temperature, humidity and ventilation. Dust dry does not mean fully cured or ready for cleaning.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Joker on ceilings?

Yes, the supplied product specification lists suitable interior walls and ceilings. Use the appropriate preparation and primer for your surface.

Is Joker scrubbable?

Its supplied specification lists Class 1 scrub resistance. Allow the coating to develop its properties before cleaning and follow the manufacturer's care guidance. Avoid assuming every stain can be removed or that abrasive cleaning will not affect the finish.

Is it an exterior paint?

No. This listing is for an interior topcoat. Choose a product specified for exterior exposure for outdoor work.

Is it guaranteed suitable for someone with allergies?

Individual sensitivities vary. Consult the current safety data sheet and manufacturer guidance before purchase where ingredients or emissions are a concern. This listing does not offer a personal health or allergy-suitability guarantee.

Are the room photographs exact colour previews?

No. The two AI-generated room scenes are illustrative decorating inspiration, not exact Tikkurila colour matches or photographs of verified Joker applications.
